They discuss how the decent work agenda can improve the current model for trade and globalization, and some of the concrete steps needed to make it happen.

Madmundo.tv uses film to investigate globalization and the impacts it has on each of us. Their latest effort is focused on Decent Work. The Madmundo team filmed Mary Robinson and her colleagues at Realizing Rights on the "decent work road" from Oslo to Monrovia and to New York; filming events and interviews along the way.

Fighting for Migrant Labor Rights in India - standing up for human rights
With few options in rural areas, many unskilled workers migrate to destination cities where they are often exploited by “labor agents” and made to work for long hours for little pay. Rajiv works to help seasonal, unskilled migrants who are primarily from lower castes and other marginalized communities.

Sompong Sakaew

Bringing Justice to Workers in Thailand’s Seafood Industry - standing up for human rights
Sompong Sakaew is a champion for exploited workers and their children in Thailand. In 2006 he founded the Labor Rights Promotion Network (LPN) to address discrimination against migrant workers in Thailand’s seafood processing center. Sompong’s investigative work with LPN was instrumental in a 2006 police raid of a Thai shrimp processing factory, which found 66 Burmese victims of forced labor in that factory.

Lillian Keene-Mugerwa

Uganda’s Pioneer of Labor Rights - standing up for human rights
Lillian Keene-Mugerwa works to defend labor rights in Uganda where few workers are unionized, many are cheated, subject to unhealthy conditions, and women and children are often exploited. The government lacks the capacity to uphold labor regulations and the few labor unions are not transparent or accountable.
